Architect authentication, identification and approval & consent services (OneGate)
ING is looking for an Architect in our Retail & Banking Technology (R&BT) department with knowledge of global platform architectures in customer access management, identification and approvals (OneGate area). Preferably through experience in a large and internationally oriented company.
The team
ING has thousands of engineers across the globe. The purpose of R&BT is to make their lives easier and to get to a level of interoperability that makes reuse of components the standard. R&BT realizes this in Customer Data & Fulfilment and Channels & Journey Orchestration tribes. This allows for innovative business solutions to be developed at a global scale by use of the global solutions and services we offer. Next to the close network of architect in ING, you will work together with about 17 architects on our global business solutions. Your roles and responsibility
As architect you strengthen the design and implementation quality of IT Systems, optimizing technology infrastructure, operational efficiency, scalability, reliability and security, ensuring seamless alignment between design and implementation and business and enterprise architecture, contributing to the internal global Touchpoint platform for the OneGate services.
- You drive the OneGate architecture in our Retail & Banking Technology department. Define the future state of the Bank in relation to the global solutions that Touchpoint provides to our engineers and business colleagues across the globe.
- Have experience with IAM, OAuth2, OIDC, cryptography, Mobile and Web applications, API Gateways, (EU) regulatory standards and API-based solutions in general that provide an integrated experience for ING customers, employees and 3rd party organizations.
- Deep knowledge of IT Security topics in a banking environment, with a focus on technology used in customer-facing channels.
- Continuously make trade-offs between target state and existing solutions, being reflected in roadmaps you create. You’re seen as the expert and trusted advisor overseeing the existing and total future state of the bank including the (public) cloud infrastructure, risk, security, and non-function requirements.
- Have a background in infrastructure and engineering architectures. Have extensive knowledge and intrinsic curiosity in the underlying technologies, frameworks and platforms.
- Have a deep understanding of reliability patterns and understands complexities of hybrid cloud deployments.
- Describe and advocate architecture for reliability, performance, and scalable solutions.
- Ensure that the architecture roadmaps are implemented according to target state, minimizing technical/tactical debt. We expect you to explain, guide and motivate your colleagues for this, being it the business lead, IT leads and engineers, escalate to management if required.

- Hold a Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent practical experience.
- Have 5+ years’ experience with platform architectures with demonstrated industry leadership in the fields of architecture and public cloud platforms.
- Can work independently, relying on the network of colleagues that you create around you, while contributing to the overall objectives.
- Have communication skills, on the level of the CIO’s of the business lines, the CIO’s of the countries and the Chief Architects of the bank.
- Work with people in or from many countries in Europe and beyond, and therefore you need to be fluent in English. Other languages (German, Spanish, French, Romanian, Polish, Italian, Dutch, Turkish, etc.) are appreciated.
- Be stationed in Amsterdam and are willing to travel when needed.
