For our chapter on Firewall & Software Defined Networking (SDN), we are seeking an IT Chapter Lead with experience in network engineering and/or operations. This role will help us develop, maintain, and improve our datacenter network infrastructure.

In your role as a Chapter Lead, you will guide your chapter based on the common purpose you establish. You will coach and develop your fellow engineers to help them and yourself achieve the best every day.

The team

The chapter on Firewall and Software Defined Networking comprises highly skilled engineers with extensive knowledge of network infrastructure. We are seeking a candidate who can enhance the quality, resilience, reliability, and automation of our firewall and SDN services.

Roles and responsibilities

You will be responsible for developing, maintaining, and improving the Firewall and SDN infrastructure. You will be part of the MT of the DC&N Networks Area and will work in close cooperation with the Product Manager responsible for Firewall and SDN.

Your education and background:

  • (IT) Bachelor’s degree 

  • Certifications or demonstrated proficiency in Networking and Security

Stand-by shifts 

Business critical systems, such as client processes, payment processes, software applications and websites, require a 24/7 accessibility and availability of several (groups) of employees to act quickly during unforeseen circumstances, such as calamities or incidents. For these (groups) of employees ING have set up a Stand-by regulation.


To compensate for the inconvenience of being available currently, a Stand-by compensation is awarded. 

If you are designated by your lead for stand-by shifts to be available for incidents outside of your regular working hours, a Stand-by compensation is awarded
