Credit Risk Specialist
We are a highly motivated team that specialises in credit risk policies, regulations, and governance. Our goal is to set and maintain ING’s global Credit Risk Framework and group credit risk policies ensuring a compliant and up to date policy house. We are the subject matter experts on credit risk regulations being the centre of competence and responsible for knowledge sharing within ING Group. Additionally, the team has an oversight role on policy compliance and implementation.
For this team ING is seeking for two credit risk specialists who focus on testing policy compliance of credit risk related topics. The Credit Risk Policy team works from our head office in Amsterdam.

That’s why it is so important to have strong internal controls for policy compliance and intervene before there are any negative consequences due to non-compliance.
What you'll do
You will be primarily responsible for testing adherence to ING’s distressed debt management policies (Definition of Default, Early Warning Indicators and Forbearance).
You will select risk-based samples, also using data analyses.
You will collaborate, be trained and report to senior policy experts.
You will register observations, identify root causes, and produce suggestions for improvement & concrete recommendations.
You will, together with your senior colleagues bring this to senior management.
You will build and maintain a stakeholder field with respective 1st and 2nd line teams.
You will work in a team where we discuss performance, identify improvements, and learn from each other.

Personal qualities and behavioural traits
Fluent in English.
With a master’s degree or equivalent.
With strong analytical and reading skills, able to understand, digest, and interpret credit risk policies and credit packs.
With strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
With proficiency in data analysis (using ING applications like Vortex, Vantage, ARIA etc.).
With the ability to identify problems. Discussing and solving them with your senior colleagues.
With the ability to value different perspectives, and think critical and independently.
With the ability to ‘get people on board’ being thorough and persuasive.
Preferred qualifications
Experience in quality assurance monitoring and/or internal/external audit.
Practical knowledge & experience with credit risk regulations (CRR, EBA Guidelines on NPL, DoD).
Experience as a credit risk analyst: conducting in-depth analysis of credit applications, incl. analysis of credit structures and risks, in-depth financial analysis, and business risk assessment.
Certification in Audit, Non-Financial Risk or (Quantitative) Risk Management.
