Your Role and Working Environment:A great opportunity has become available for a (Senior) Director to join our Debt and Capital Advisory (D&CA) team in Amsterdam, the Netherlands. Our D&CA team is part of Corporate Finance, which includes Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A), Equity Capital Markets (ECM) and Financial Institutions (FI) Advisory. Our team strives to reach our overall Capital Market & Advisory (CMA) ambitions to improve client focus and advisory capabilities.  Working in D&CA means working in a dynamic environment on very challenging transactions at the very heart of the ING organization. Together with the other members of your team, you will be involved in complex projects that have great impact and involve public (press) exposure for our clients.Our Team:As a D&CA Director you will be one of the senior members of an enthusiastic and highly driven team. Our team plays a key role in the origination and execution of debt advisory, ratings advisory and transformational financings (loans, bonds, private placements, equity and hedging).  You will work closely together with the members of our team within Amsterdam and other D&CA locations (Frankfurt, Brussels, Madrid, Singapore, Hong Kong and New York), the sector/relationship coverage teams and various product specialists within ING including M&A, Global Capital Markets, Financial Markets (FM), Loan Syndicate, Lending, Sustainable Finance and Corporate Investments.As Sector Lead T&L, you will work with predominantly EMEA based corporate clients across various sectors and financial (infra) sponsors clients in the T&L and Automotive sectors, where you will be working on corporate style, infra-style and project finance transactions. Depending on the relevant experience you have, you might also work with clients in the Sustainable Value Chains sector, covering clients on a sustainability transition journey that require a cross-sector approach, such as battery manufacturing, EV charging and cleantech components.You will work as part of both independent debt advisory teams directly working for and on behalf of our clients, and as part of a multi-disciplined origination, structuring and execution teams for integrated financing solutions, where your role is to put the client interest first and ensure best-in-class delivery to meet and go beyond client expectations. Due to the complexity of the assignments and the international nature of the work and team, you will learn a lot. Responsibilities:In this position, you will have a direct impact on important financial events for our clients, such as mergers and acquisitions, large (re)financings, investment programmes and financial restructurings. Your deliverables in the role will be:
  • · Jointly work with colleagues within Sector Coverage and Products on the marketing/co-origination and  execution of a wide range of financing, (debt) advisory and hedging solutions;
  • · Coordinating the preparation of presentations/pitch books regarding integrated debt (bonds, loans), (quasi) equity and hedging solutions;
  • · Leading debt advisory processes as deal captain
  • · Frequent client contact, in the marketing, structuring and execution phases of transactions;
  • · Overseeing complex financial models and quality stamping/ assuming responsibility for different output generated by junior staff (i.e. presentations, financial analysis and peer analyses);
  • · Active participation in the commercial Green Light Committee for the T&L sector;
  • · Developing creative solutions and sector knowledge, and enhance idea replication and knowledge sharing across the Corporate Finance platform and wider ING Wholesale Bank on the basis of an integrated multi-product approach
Candidate Profile:The successful candidate thrives in a collaborative team environment, working closely with colleagues to achieve our ambitions.  At least 10 years’ relevant experience , with a track record in a transaction-based environment. You hold a Masters (post-graduate) degree.  In-depth knowledge of the market and products within one (or preferably) more of the following products: Corporate Finance, Debt Capital Markets, Equity Capital Markets, Loan Syndicate, Corporate Investments, Financial Markets.You understand what is needed in the role: you have a proven track record in structuring, negotiating and executing transformational and/or complex (international) transactions and/or optimizing balance sheet and financing structures as well as providing strategic advice to clients. Strong credit skills are a must.Experience in loan market execution and debt advisory or -coordination is a plus.You have drive, proactiveness and a genuine curiosity in searching for commercial opportunities and enhancing the quality of analyses, pitches and executions of the team to realize the D&CA team’s ambitions.  You keep developing your personal commercial capabilities, keep aware of technological and regulatory changes that are impacting the industry and facilitate an innovative culture to bring about changes necessary to compete effectively.  You have strong business development skills and an entrepreneurial mind-set with broad market knowledge, client network and presence, and a very strong sense for client needs and you are renown as a trusted partner to clients.  You are a true team player, who knows that combining the strengths from the various business lines will improve the client offering. You are comfortable with data and have strong analytical and financial modelling skills.  You are detail-oriented and accurate, managing multiple projects simultaneously and meeting tight deadlines.  You show sound judgment and solid decision-making skills.  Your communication skills (English) help you to create impactful results. You know how to ask the right questions and get the right information.
