As an engineer, you will be working in a small squad in the IT Area “Collections NL & Generic”. Together with your squad, you will be responsible for setting up the platform and the deployment pipeline for IT applications used by the ING Tribe: Collections NL.

The Team:

You will join your squad in an OPS Engineering role, the rest of your squad consists of experienced engineers. Within the assignment, you will have the opportunity to expand/broaden your knowledge of different technologies, software packages, etc.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • You ensure that the IT environment is safe, secure and compliant.
  • You give advice on and implement (automate) life cycle management activities
  • You ensure an efficient and effective handling incident -, configuration -, change management within your team.
  • You regulate the installation, stability and monitoring of (D) -T-A-P environments using a high level of automation.

  • You continuously learn and take full ownership of your personal development. You are curious and understand the latest developments in technical and financial services.
  • You are experienced in maintaining a Linux / Windows-based stack
  • You have a basic understanding of banking in general or you are passionate about learning our business.
  • You can translate requests from your Product Owner and other stakeholders *the ‘what’) into working software solutions (the ‘how’).
  • Willing to be part of the standby/incident schedule outside of business hours. 
  • You have excellent analytical skills, you can determine the impact of certain choices/decisions on your environment and together with your squad come up with the right course of action.
  • You recognize yourself in ING’s Orange Code and apply it to push your team to the highest possible performance

Technical experience/capabilities

  • Linux: (bash)scripting
  • Linux & Windows platform lifecycle management (patching, capacity- & performance-management, etc.)
  • Java/jvm/Tomcat
  • Oracle Application development: (PL)SQL / packages / regular maintenance
  • Oracle DBA: Database Administration
  • Monitoring solutions: ELK, Prometheus
  • Continuous Delivery / Continuous Integration: Azure Devops, Ansible, etc.
  • Stack virtualization using Docker (image and container LCM)
  • Writing high quality technical documentation detailing the different application and platform characteristics
