We are looking for an experienced DevOps who will contribute in the development of enterprise content services at ING. Enterprise Content Services is the global IT Area in Tech Group Services where enterprise-wide content services are offered to all entities in ING. These services include but are not limited to archiving, search, retention, e-signatures, content generation, content sharing and intelligent content services. They supplement each other and do provide a way to make content available making sure that every record is kept in a compliant manner. ECS also provides the Robotics Process Automation service to automate repetitive tasks.

The teams develop new applications and features, but also continuously improve and maintain code, monitoring, alerting and processes.

The squads mainly use the following technologies and frameworks: Java, Spring, Kafka, docker, Kubernetes, helm, shell scripts, lit-html, Web Components, JavaScript, Azure Devops, S3 based OBS

Your job

The Senior DevOps Engineer role is a key multi-skilled role responsible for ensuring that applications are designed, developed, deployed and maintained in alignment with infrastructure capabilities and operational considerations

It requires collaboration with a large set of stakeholders across Infrastructure, Architecture and Development to ensure applications run smoothly and are scalable in meeting transaction growth. It is a hands-on, multi-skilled role that touches application lifecycle management, architecture, technical design, application development, technical testing and infrastructure competencies. It contributes to DevOps engineering initiatives within ING, including design and technical implementation.

What are you going to do? You will be…

  • Provide operations and infrastructure support to the software delivery teams

  • Create new tools to support applications monitoring integration and delivery.

  • Maintain application configuration management repositories and enhance our configuration management capabilities

  • Actively contribute to and expand our Continuous Delivery (CD) capabilities

  • Develop tools and automate processes to improve the infrastructure and operations team's work efficiency

  • Drive Continuous Improvement by extending automation across the software delivery, infrastructure and operations practices

  • Support the whole SDLC ( IT Engineering is IT Risk )
     

What are we looking for? Someone who has…

  • Demonstrated development experience in Java / Python or GoLang with minimum 2+years of DevOps experience.

  • Experience with ElasticSearch (Observability, APM, Enterprise Search / Workplace Search )

  • Experience with Windows systems administration and/ or Linux administration.

  • Experience working with CI/CD,  Automation and Cloud management tools

  • Experience with virtual environments such as VMware, Openshift, Docker and Kubernetes

  • Knowledge of federated authentication and authorization models

  • Knowledge on Infrastructure as a code ( Terraform )

  • Templating engines ( helm, jinja2 )

  • Setting up infrastructure in  cloud technologies especially on Azure and ML Platforms

  • Experience with languages and tools such as PowerShell, Bash , Python, Ansible, Maven

  • Experience with relational and non-relational databases (Oracle, SQL, MongoDB)

  • Experience with event driven technologies  ( Kafka )

  • Expertise in troubleshooting very complex distributed environments, including following stack traces back to code and come up with a good root cause

  • Troubleshoot and debug infrastructure, network, and operating system issues.

  • Appetite to automate everything
