WB Tech-FMGT-CS Proficient Test Engineer in financial markets transaction reporting
ING is looking for a Proficient Test Engineer that can guide the department in improving test automation and with automation and test management skills. You will work in the regulatory reporting domain of financial market. You are a team player and always look for ways on how to improve.
ING needs to comply with different regulations worldwide. For example, Markets in Financial Instruments Directive (MiFID) and European Market Infrastructure Regulation (EMIR). In transaction reporting we are responsible for collecting, enriching, and sending ING’s trade details to external Global Trade Repositories to be compliant with regulations. All trade details need to be sent complete, accurate and in time. This sounds easy, but there are a lot of aspects that must be validated before go-live.
The team
As test engineer you will be working across two main teams. One team works on an existing application to do regulatory reporting. The other team is building a new application from scratch. At the start the focus will be more on manual testing and test management for existing application. Over time the more test automation part will become relevant for both existing application and new application.
What you will do
We are looking for a test engineer, someone with hands on skills that will also perform test management. Examples of your tasks are:
- Coordinate test activities. Align within team and with stakeholders outside team.
- Define and Setup test cases (manually and/or automated).
- Analyze test results and Report on test results to stakeholders.
- Automate and execute functional tests with Cucumber/Java.
- Setup, execute and report on performance tests.
- You maintain and follow up on the overall test strategy of the new application.
- You setup and use continuous delivery pipelines in Azure DevOps.
- Help and coach your team and other teams to further mature on test automation.
- You align with surrounding applications to validate their changes or execute end-to-end tests to validate new products.
- You contribute to the agile way of working and actively look for how we can improve.
How to succeed
As you will be working in an Agile international environment, we expect you to have experience with Agile and/or DevOps. Also, it is mandatory to have good oral and written skills in English. Within ING we look for engineers that behave according the Orange Code. So, you are a pro-active team-player, you are always looking for improvement and you teach, coach and train our colleague to improve as well.
We expect that:
- You have at least 10 years’ experience in testing of back-end systems, and you are total testing experience is at least 8 years. You also have wide experience with test management and stakeholder management around testing.
- You have worked with Cucumber (Java implementation) is at least 3 years.
- You have an analytical mindset that will help you understand and test the application and the applications in the chain.
It would be nice if:
- You have worked in the financial markets before and know regulations like EMIR or MiFID.
- You have firsthand experience with testing applications based on SpringBoot, Oracle, Kafka, Linux (RHEL) and service running on a Container Platform like Kubernetes, OpenShift.
- You have experience with data management environments, think about data quality, data flows, data consistency and data lineage.
