ING is looking for a passionate Senior Frontend Engineer to help make an impact building global features

The opportunity

OnePAM is the global data store and supports the ING business lines by providing a global solution to manage Master Party Data. OnePAM is the data layer and integral part of the Touchpoint Platform, the target technology platform for ING.

OnePAM provides a standardized solution incorporating Touchpoint technology and Global Reference Data Management. It enables consumers worldwide to connect to global services and ultimately decommission local Data Management systems.

As front-end engineer you develop global features around these services. An example of our global features is the onepam-data-viewer, which makes it possible to find detailed information on a party. Or the “register and modify postal address flow” which will be the main flow to add or change the address by our customers.

The Team

Our squad is called Nexus and we are growing. Currently we are a team of 2 front-end engineers, 1 product owner and 1 Consumer Journey Expert / UX Designer. Hieratically, we are within the OnePam area and our main challenge is to develop globally scalable features surrounding customer data. We are a pure front-end team that works closely with back-end oriented teams who are responsible for the api’s we consume. Because of our focus on global features and dependence on back-end services, effective and clear communication with our stake-holders is vital to our operations. Because our features are build to be used globally, we don’t always know who uses our components. This makes high quality code and documentation all the more vital for our features to thrive.

How to succeed

• 10+ years’ experience in development/software engineering and working within agile organisations.
• Experience with the NodeJS ecosystem and enjoy keeping up to date with the latest JavaScript releases and features.
• You enjoy keeping you with the latest browser-standards
• Are thoughtful of the processes, standards  and coding practices already in place, and are very precise and analytical about implementing them.
• Familiarity with WebComponents meta-specification.
• Experience with frontend build tooling e.g., Webpack and Rollup.
• Experience with CI/CD tooling, preferably Azure DevOps.
• Deployments to CDN, NFM Feeds, release procedures, risk evaluation and security.
• Desirable Design Patterns: Single Page Applications, Server-Side Rendering / Static Site Generation (NextJS), SEO optimization.
• Well versed with TDD, BDD, and testing tools such as Mocha, Chai, Selenium, Karma, etc.
• Strong technical communication skills and keen to engage with stake-holders, due to the nature of our team this is vital.
• Excellent English verbal and written communication skills.
