FI Lending Specialist
FI Lending Amsterdam is looking for a committed, ambitious FI Lending Specialist (analyst level) within the non-bank FI (NBFI) team. Focus will especially be on insurance companies, asset managers and funds. The job requires sound credit analysis-, structuring- and documentation skills and solid communication capabilities.
The unit is part of Wholesale Banking/ FI Sector and represents an anchor product for cementing client relationships. The department consists of two specialized teams – Banks & NBFIs. The day-to-day operations/work include credit analyses as well as structuring, pricing and negotiating lending solutions that deliver value for FI clients and ING. The team manages and executes the full value chain of lending, from risk rating, analysis, and preparation of credit applications to the tailoring, negotiation and signing of loan documentation. FIL partners with many different stakeholders including Relationship Management (PAMs), Clients, TFS, FM, FIA, Risk, Legal, Sustainability Finance, Lending Execution and CAS, to ensure customer expectations are met and exceeded.
Main duties and responsibilities:
• Undertake in-depth counterparty and industry credit risk analyses covering non-bank financial institution counterparties and convert into easy-to-read proposals/advices incl. structure, documentation etc.;
• Supporting and/or leading role in structuring and execution of standard lending transactions;
• Work both independently and collaboratively as a team member. You need to be able to manage your own work and priorities will be set by your manager;
• Monitor your own portfolio and inform/advise management/ stakeholders of material developments where necessary;
• Ensure the consistent use of Vantage applications, ING policies, and make sure regulations, product requirements, and data quality are applied and of the highest standard;
• Effective representation towards our stakeholders, including maintaining good relationships, sourcing information and clearly communicating developments and managing expectations on delivery;
• Act as support liaison between product teams (e.g. FM), client coverage and Risk;
• Active participation and cooperation in various potential projects (e.g. stemming from ECB/TRIM) within FI Lending and with related stakeholders, e.g. Risk Management.
Your profile
Knowledge and experience:
• Strong academic credentials – university degree;
• Fluent English skills (verbal and writing);
• Understanding of the ING organisation;
• Sound communication skills;
• Preferably 1-4 years of work experience in Sectors, FM, Lending and/or Risk Management.
Competencies:
• Robust analytical skills and client focus;
• (Basic) understanding of FM products;
• True team player: ability to cooperate effectively with stakeholders and team members;
• Accuracy and high-quality orientation;
• Proficiency in MS Office (outstanding Excel skills) and Vantage, e.g. Vortex, ACR, Risk Rater, Loan Pricer, Approval Package;
• Take it on and make it happen mindset;
• Sound interpersonal and communication skills;
• Ability to work in a high-pressure work environment with a high level of initiative and common sense with tight deadlines.
