HR Non-Financial Risk lead
As the Head of HR Non-Financial Risk you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of risk management within the HR function. This position offers the opportunity to lead a dedicated team, influence organizational strategy, and contribute to the overall safety and development of the bank's workforce.
The team
The HR Non Financial risk team is part of the HR Strategy and Analytics team reporting to the CHRO. We’re a friendly group of people analytics professionals, strategy colleagues and risk experts.
Global HR is the 1st line counterpart of the level 1 Employment Practice Risk taxonomy for HR related topics, based on Basel 4. This risk contains various level 2 Risk types:
Employee Relations: The risk of litigation loss, business disruption, reputational damage due to acting inconsistently with employment agreements and/or operating within dysfunctional employment relationships and/or employee discrimination events.
Employee Eligibility: The risk of regulatory fines, litigation loss, reputational damage due to hiring/appointing unsuitable individuals on (key) functions.
Remuneration Regulations: The risk of regulatory fines, reputational damage due to inadequate remuneration practices.
The NFR risk team is led by this role and is made up of two NFR consultants supported by other agile resources from S&A as needed. The team is responsible for designing the standards (in alignment with other COE`s/ GPS) to cover Employment Practice Risk and ensure completeness and accuracy of the effectiveness across ING including an overall In Control statement each year (risk conclusion, overview existing issues etc) for the items covered by the Employment practice risk.
Roles and responsibilities
Develop and lead the HR NFR team of professionals
Lead the development and implementation of strategy for HR NFR, anticipating mega-trends and complex challenges and opportunities, and ensuring integration with wider corporate strategy.
Oversee the maintenance and effectiveness of control standards, procedures and policy frameworks in scope (currently Employment Screening Control Standard and Suitability policy Framework.
Ensure that the Employment Practice risk statement, KRIs and risk controls led by second line are fit for purpose from an HR perspective
Acts as the HR authority on non-financial risk for Employment Practice risk.
Primary contact for the Second line head of Employment Practice and their team.
Represent HR in cross-functional discussions and initiatives covering risk and compliance, including providing sounding input on policies from other departments such as Government Framework and Code of Conduct sounding.
Foster a culture of risk awareness and proactive risk management within the HR function.
Member of the S&AMT, providing leadership for the whole of S&A particularly on development, talent and cross team prioritisation and initiatives.

Education:
University / Post Graduate (Master's Degree) in a relevant field.
Experience:
Extensive experience in non-financial risk management, with a proven track record of leading teams and managing complex risk initiatives.
Demonstrated ability to interpret strategy and policy to set and deliver objectives within medium to long time frames.
Experience within HR (desirable)
