The Team

We have an exciting opportunity for a pro-active and energetic Intern to join our ING Corporate Investments (ING CI) team in Amsterdam, the Netherlands. ING CI is responsible for all mezzanine debt, equity, and sustainable investments within ING. We are active across a broad range of sectors and invest in various stages, from early-stage to mature companies. We pride ourselves on our creative approach and our ability to deliver unique & tailored solutions to ING clients and prospects.

Responsibilities

In this position you will play a role in the structuring and execution of complex equity investments and mezzanine debt transactions. Your deliverables in the role will be:

  • Assessing investment opportunities including (i) evaluation of business models and financial statements, (ii) financial modelling and forecasting (iii) doing industry research, market-, peer group- and benchmarking analysis and (iv) writing debt / investment proposals;
  • Supporting dealteam members in transaction origination and execution;
  • Frequent contact with (prospective) clients, external advisors (e.g. corporate finance/debt advisors, lawyers, consultants) and co-investors as part of transaction execution and portfolio management;
  • Preparing pitches and presentations, market analyses, financial analyses, internal reporting, shareholder meetings, etc.;
  • Collaborating with other ING teams, such as Corporate Finance and Sector teams, to create integrated client solutions

Furthermore, you have at least a few of the following:

  • Master or Bachelor (3rd year) student, looking for an internship for a period of 6 months starting March / April 2026;
  • An academic degree in Finance, Economics, Engineering, Science or equivalent, but we also welcome top-tier candidates with other backgrounds with an interest in Private Equity, Venture Capital or Banking;
  • Strong academic record with above-average grades;
  • Excellent numerical and analytical skills;
  • Competitive attitude and an eagerness to constantly improve yourself;
  • Excellent attention to detail;
  • Drive, proactiveness and a genuine curiosity;
  • Fluent in both Dutch and English (verbal and writing)
