ING
Internship Global Communications - Global Communications
We're looking for someone who is curious, creative and eager to learn, who enjoys creating content but is equally interested in understanding the business behind the story. If you want to learn how communication can help shape understanding, engagement and change in a large international organisation, we'd love to hear from you.
About the role
As an Internal Marketing & Communications Intern within Group & Global Retail Communications, you help bring ING's strategy, leadership priorities and culture to life through engaging communication, campaigns and employee activations.
You will work with communication professionals across different countries and business areas, supporting initiatives that help colleagues understand where ING is heading, why it matters and how they can contribute. You'll gain hands-on experience in strategic communication, content creation, employee engagement and internal campaigns within one of Europe's largest banks.
We believe internal communication should be as relevant and engaging as the communication we create for customers. That's why we increasingly apply principles from marketing, storytelling, social media and audience engagement, while staying focused on our core purpose: helping colleagues connect with ING's strategy and business priorities.
What you'll do
- Help translate ING's strategy, leadership priorities and business initiatives into clear, relevant and engaging communication.
- Create engaging content for internal channels, including articles, videos, presentations, newsletters and campaigns.
- Support communication campaigns and employee activations that drive understanding, engagement and action.
- Bring fresh ideas from marketing, social media and digital trends to strengthen internal communication.
- Support the preparation of leadership events, town halls and other key communication moments.
- Help measure communication effectiveness and identify opportunities to improve reach and impact.
- Explore how AI and new communication tools can help create more effective and creative communication.
What we're looking for
- Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Communications, Marketing, Media, Journalism, Business or a related field.
- Passion for storytelling, content creation and audience engagement.
- Strong interest in social media, digital communication and content trends.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Creative mindset combined with curiosity about business and strategy.
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Comfortable working in an international environment and collaborating with different stakeholders.
- Interest in AI and digital content creation tools.
You might be a great fit if you...
- Enjoy creating content and thinking about what captures people's attention.
- Are curious about how communication influences understanding, engagement and behaviour.
- Like turning complex ideas into simple and compelling stories.
- Want to learn how communication supports leadership, strategy and organisational change.
- Are eager to experiment with new formats, technologies and creative approaches.
- What you'll learn
- This internship offers a unique opportunity to experience communication at the heart of a large international organisation.
You will learn
- How business strategy is translated into communication that people understand and engage with.
- How leadership communication supports organisational priorities and change.
- How internal campaigns are developed and activated across different countries and audiences.
- How data, audience insights and AI can improve communication effectiveness.
- How to work with senior stakeholders in a fast-moving international environment.
- Most importantly, you'll learn how great communication is not just about sharing information. It's about helping people understand where an organisation is going, why it matters and how they can contribute.
