To do so, our COO HR team has HR priorities in line with the HR People Vision – to empower our people to perform to their full potential for future and present challenges in ING and beyond.
Job Overview
Within the Global Human Resources organisation, the role of intern supports the HR Business Manager (HR BM), the Global HR Business Partners for COO (HRBPs) and the HR Director (HRD COO) to deliver on the COO priorities. Your goal is to make the entire team more successful in delivery of people priorities and projects.
Key Responsibilities
You will be responsible for activities related to supporting the HRD COO, the HR BM COO, and the Global HR COO team. You are the supporting force for the team, in the execution of the global HR-related projects and the People agenda for the business. This includes, but is not limited to:
- Supporting HR Business Manager in developing and executing the HR COO Team strategic agenda and preparing plans to deliver priorities and monitoring progress on HR COO projects and day-to day activities.
- Acting as a sparring partner, sounding board and trouble shooter for the HR Business Manager and HRBPs in day-to-day activities.
- Supporting the team to prepare for strategic People / Talent sessions, and presentations for the COO HR team, Global HR Management Team meetings, MBB meetings and meetings with Senior Leadership Team members.
- Suggesting and implementing improvements to HR projects and processes, and ways of working, while working closely with our Communities of Expertise and Data teams.
- Responsible for managing identified HR projects within COO HR such as Business Leadership programme, Step-Up performance management, data quality and reporting, continuous listening (pulse surveys, OHI, Sentiment surveys).
- Finally, you’ll will be responsible for your own HR project within the team which you will fully develop during your internship.
Given the nature of the work and access to confidential and sensitive information, the role is deemed to be ‘sensitive’. An extra security clearance is required by the Corporate Special Investigations (CSI) team to be appointed to this role.
Requirements
- You have a consultancy style, the professionalism to work with senior management, and can work both independently and as part of a team.
- You are strong in your analysis, planning & organisation skills.
- You can set priorities in a fast-paced environment and escalate issues in a timely manner.
- You are comfortable with ambiguity and high work pressure and can also work to tight deadlines.
- You are hands-on, proactive, resourceful, and willing to go the extra mile.
- You are a strong communicator at all levels of the organization (excellent written and verbal English language skills and story-telling abilities) and can be assertive when required.
- You are proficient in Microsoft (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
- You are currently on track in your Bachelor or Master-studies, and you are fully available to help the team during your internship (no graduation assignments).
- The internship will be for a period of 4 to 6 months.
- Knowledge of the HR function’s key processes would be advantageous.
