ING is a global bank with a strong European base. Our 60,000 employees serve over 38 million customers, corporate clients and financial institutions in over 40 countries.

The team

ING’s Wholesale Bank helps companies, institutions and governments to gain access to capital in support of their success and further growth. We provide M&A advice, capital structuring advice, help companies hedge their FX, interest and commodity risk, support daily payment requirements and finance a variety of assets throughout the 7 Sectors in which we’re organized.

Those Sectors are Energy, Real Estate, Financial Institutions, Commodities Food & Agri, Telecom Media Technology & Healthcare, Transportation & Logistics and Corporate clients. In those Sectors we have a global network of employees with in-depth sector knowledge and product expertise. Dependent on a client’s need the Sector colleagues work in close collaboration with product specialists and as such aim to service clients with their financial needs and give them a unique experience.

Through an internship in ING’s Sector organization, you’ll have the opportunity to get to learn ING, a specific Sector and the services it provides, what it is to be a fulltime banker and whether this is an industry for you to pursue your career in.

Roles and responsibilities

The companies we cover in Amsterdam are mostly related to Logistics, Land Transport and Shipping. As an intern you will be a member of multiple deal teams involved in transactions where you for example finance electric busses, large container vessels or Schiphol Airport. You work most closely together with team members in Amsterdam, but as we have offices in Frankfurt, New York, London, Singapore and Brussels you will come across a variety of colleagues.
