Are you eager to gain hands-on experience in the dynamic world of retail banking products? Do you want to contribute to shaping the future of savings at ING? Then this internship might be the perfect opportunity for you!

The Department

Within our Daily Banking & Mobile Led tribe, we work towards becoming the best mobile bank on the continent. Do you have a strong affinity for developing and optimizing products and processes? Are you full of groundbreaking ideas on how we can shape our future savings proposition? And do you have the mindset to make it happen? Then we are looking for you!

Daily Banking & Mobile Led is one of the largest tribes within ING Retail. Together with around 60 agile squads in Amsterdam, Leeuwarden, and beyond, we focus on delivering the best mobile banking experience. The tribe covers products and processes related to payment accounts, savings accounts, customer onboarding, and billing. Essentially the heart of the bank, meeting our customers’ daily financial needs.

This internship is part of the Product Savings domain in Amsterdam, responsible for all savings products such as the Oranje Spaarrekening, savings goals, and Fixed Term Deposits. The team manages propositions, product features, IT development, and marketing. Together with customer journey experts and IT engineers, you will strive to deliver the best customer experience following ING’s principles: Personal, Easy, and Smart.

Role and Responsibilities

You will work on a strategic project focused on legacy savings portfolios. Your main tasks include:

  • Mapping the performance and cost structure of existing savings products.

  • Identifying opportunities and risks through a SWOT analysis.

  • Collaborating closely with the Savings team, Pricing, and Finance.

  • Providing well-founded advice on the future of these portfolios.

How to succeed

We hire smart people like you for your potential. Our biggest expectation is that you’ll stay curious. Keep learning. Take on responsibility. In return, we’ll back you to develop into an even more awesome version of yourself.

We are looking for you if you are:

  • Currently in the final year of a Business Administration, Finance, or related degree.

  • Available for at least 4 months.

  • Enrolled at a Dutch University or HBO (due to visa restrictions, non‑EU citizens from non‑Dutch universities cannot join).

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.

  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.

  • Able to work independently and collaborate effectively with different teams.

What we offer

  • Real responsibility, with the autonomy to take on as much as you can handle as an intern.

  • On-the-job guidance from an experienced marketer and coaching from the team manager.

  • A place where you can teach us too—your opinion matters.

  • An internship allowance.

  • Travel expense reimbursement.

  • Access to ING-organised events, such as social gatherings and activities with fellow interns.

Rewards and benefits

This is a great opportunity to train with highly skilled people who are experts in their field. You’ll do a lot and learn a lot – not only about your specialist area and the bank, but also about yourself and whether this type of environment is right for you.

You’ll also benefit from:

  • Internship allowance of 700 EUR based on a 36 hours work week

  • Your own work laptop

  • Hybrid working to blend home working for focus and office working for collaboration and co-creation

  • Personal growth and challenging work with endless possibilities

  • An informal working environment with innovative colleagues

During the duration of your internship at ING, it is mandatory to be enrolled at a Dutch university (or EU-university for EU passport holders).
