The Team
We are looking for a Tech leader (F/M) in our domain who’s a great fit for the team in terms of content, Orange culture, and diversity. This role sits in the Dutch Tech organization, close to our large NL customer base, but is delivering Tech solutions to virtually all our Retail countries.
Roles and responsibilities
As IT Area Lead, you will work in a dynamic and challenging environment where you will be driving the tech strategy and execution of key global products in multiple ING Countries. Together with the business and Architects, you’ll define the product and technology strategy, developing the roadmap, and ensuring effective execution of it in a highly available and highly secure manner.
You will be a member of your domain management team, reporting to the IT Lead in the Netherlands.

- You Have a very strong technical background with multiple years of hands-on engineering experience in highly complex and demanding environments, with an obsession for operational excellence, automation and engineering practices (+10 years)
- Have proven experience in Technology
- Have people management experience (+5 years) and a proven track record of coaching and developing people with a focus to build high performing teams
- Have a solid understanding and proven track record of working with different solution design patterns and modern architectures
- Have Engineering experience in creating and running high scalability mission-critical applications (being API’s, Websites and mobile apps), with strong background in IT security
- Are passionate about growing and developing your engineering talent
- Have experience with managing budgets and cost efficiency strategies
- Have a genuine interest in understanding our business and how our customers use our products
- Have excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills
- Are a connector with strong stakeholder management skills in working with a wide variety of types of stakeholders up to CIO-level
- Can achieve optimum results by empowering teams and giving them responsibility
- Have proven the ability to go deep and quickly learn new domains, as well as solid understanding of all major parts of the business
- Are comfortable working in an international context, within virtual teams over different locations (preferable working offshore experience) and can interact easily with international stakeholders
- Value a multi-cultured environment where English is the working language, and you easily get on with people from different cultural backgrounds
- Are optimistic, solution oriented, flexible, collaborative and proactive, always with the greater good in mind and a focus to accelerate impact
- Have a solid understanding of what it means to be a provider and consumer
- Strong analytical thinking & problem-solving skills
