IT Operations Engineer ING Bank – Deploying and managing high-quality applications at a bank that is at the forefront of IT innovations

You will be working according to the latest methods (agile) within complex IT projects.

As an IT Operations Engineer at ING Bank, you fulfill an important role in managing one or more technologically high-quality (Citrix) applications in a professional team of Development and Operations Engineers (DevOps team). You will work intensively with colleagues in your team to test and manage these (Citrix) software applications. You promote the application to a production environment and monitor that the application is available for the users and functions correctly.

Your work as an IT Operations Engineer is very varied, but your main tasks/focus areas include:

• Managing various applications;

• Deploying applications for our DevOps teams;

• Troubleshooting and monitoring the performance of these applications.

The DevOps teams within ING Bank use the Scrum methodology and Continuous Delivery Engineering Practices. This means that ING Bank is not only at the forefront of concrete innovations in the IT field, but also in the working method followed for designing, building and testing applications, as well as the process of taking control, managing and ultimately decommissioning applications. In this way, ING Bank is continuously optimizing its services to its customers and further strengthening its leading position in the market. In your position, you therefore have a direct influence on customer satisfaction at ING Bank and you are naturally expected to put the customer's interests first in all your work.

Your work environment

As an IT Operations Engineer at ING Bank, you work together with your enthusiastic and professional colleagues in a DevOps team from the ING Bank Maple building in Amsterdam as well as from home. Your team performs work for externally hosted (private Cloud) IT environment of ING Bank Financial Markets. A skilled and analytical IT Operations Engineer

You are a skilled, analytical and highly motivated IT Operations Engineer. You are substantively strong in and you are focused on achieving the best and concrete results in your work. You understand better than anyone what the wishes and needs of your (internal) customers are in the field of IT and you are also a real team player. You are flexible and understand that standby and weekend service are part of the duty. You also support risk procedures and processes of ING, because we’re a bank.

In addition, you have:

- Citrix/Windows server/Linux knowledge

- Demonstrated affinity and passion for IT

- Work experience in a complex IT environment

- Knowledge of Automated deployments with Azure pipelines as part of continuous delivery

- Experience in configuring and maintaining application monitoring and alerting

It is an advantage if you have skills in:

- Networking

- RedHat Enterprise Linux (7 or 8)

- Knowledge of basic database operations

- Knowledge of (terminal) applications

- Knowledge of FM (market data) applications, f.e. Bloomberg, Eikon, Workspace, FX Trading, Messenger

- Knowledge of the LSEG market data platform (RTDS, ATS, DACS, Contex)

You also master English language in word and writing.
