As a junior starter analyst you will be part of the Corporate Development/Investment team responsible for setting up a M&A process. This team coordinates the preparation of strategic investments, acquisitions and divestments by ING Group, under mandate from the executive Board.

You analyzes the market to identify M&A opportunities and makes recommendations to support decision-making. You also coordinate the M&A process so that any merger, acquisition, investment or divestment runs smoothly for ING.

The team

In this job you will support the team members actively involved in origination, structuring and execution of a M&A process.

Roles and responsibilities

  • Assisting managing directors, project leads and associates in origination and execution of transactions of all sizes.

  • Prepare financial models

  • Conduct research, analyze and explain historical and projected financial information.

  • Prepare transaction and origination documents, including presentations and pitch books;

  • Prepare documents for transaction processing (a.o. legal documents, structuring papers);

  • Maintain active contacts with other departments / disciplines such as other Tax, Policy & Procedures, Investor Relations, FI teams, DCM, CF, ECM and Financial Markets.

Your profile and competenties

  • Strong academic record, Master degree (preferably quantitative);

  • Strong commercial drive and persistency; eager to go “the extra mile”;

  • Fluent in Dutch & English (verbal and writing);

  • True team player, entrepreneurial mindset and outstanding interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal;

  • Detail-oriented, pro-active and self-motivated;

  • Excellent analytical skills, eye for detail and accuracy; and

  • Good representative of the team, both internally and externally.
