Regional Restructuring Unit (“RRU”) NL or Intensief Beheer (“IB”) is a 2nd line Tribe with active customer involvement which is there for customers facing financial difficulties. We carefully and actively minimize losses for both customers and ING. In addition, we want to ensure safe and compliant data.

IB has the ownership of the strategic/risk management (decision making) when a file is transferred to problem loan management, including – but not limited to – decisions concerning Restructuring/Recovery Strategy, Risk Ratings and Loan Loss Provisions.

Part of problem loan management is transferred to first line (COO - Service Center Business Lending) and external collection agencies. For this IB has a 2nd line responsibility and functional ownership.

The team

The Portfolio Management teams consists of two sub-teams which are responsible for 2nd line monitoring, functional steering, credit decisioning of transferred activities and for specialized Restructuring and Recovery support for IB and that of GCR.

Role and responsibilities

  • 2nd line monitoring, functional steering, credit decisioning of transferred problem loan management.
  • (Operational) Management of specific Restructuring and Recovery support 
  • An effective, efficient, safe and compliant way of working for problem loan management.
  • Active stakeholder management (a.o. first line (Business Banking, Business Lending and COO Service center Business Lending) and GCR), to ensure and enforce the above.
  • Good collaboration within the value chain and with other Risk Tribes.
  • Ownership (responsibility, initiative and delivery) of continuous improvement, change (e.g. IT development) and bold moves.
  • Contribute to DBNL’s Horizon 28 strategy especially with respect to financial health.
  • Sponsor of one or more Squads.
  • Owner of or participant in projects to improve way of working, data quality and regulatory audits, on-sites and remediations.
  • Represent IB and participate in interactions with supervisors like ECB and KPMG.
  • Member of the leadership team of IB and with that jointly responsible for IB’s overall performance and its people.

Furthermore, you have:

  • 12+ years’ banking experience. A well-established and broad track record with Dutch business customers, lending, credit risk and operational management.
  • Experience and affinity with credit risk policies & regulations, (external) supervision and risk data & metrics.
  • Fluent in the Dutch and English language as you will deal with Dutch speaking stakeholders.
  • Participate in internal control testing, audit inspections and ECB inspections.

  • Craftmanship in business banking (customers and lending).
  • People manager and team worker with interest in working together and strong drive to get things done.
  • Data and result driven with the ability to push forward issues in a persistent and constructive manner.
  • You also the natural capability to address others and provide feedback.
