- have ACAMS certification or ICA AML Diploma (preferred qualifications)
- are fluent in English.
Your responsibilities:
As Lead of FCC Transaction Monitoring you will represent all FCC stakeholders, across locations and business lines, in the development of a single well aligned FCC view on FCC Transaction Monitoring. Your purpose is to enhance the operational effectiveness (& efficiency) of the Bank’s FCC TM Controls and help inform the strategic direction of the bank’s future FCC controls, as per the risk appetite prescribed by relevant AML/ CTF & Sanctions regulations, laws and the bank’s policies.
You will leverage your distinct and unique technical skillset to further mature ING's FCC Controls Framework on its path to a sustainable control level globally with a focus on operational effectiveness:
- Serve as the primary contact for 1LoD & 2LOD Transaction Monitoring change initiatives.
- Advice on 2LOD TM strategy to the Global Head of FCC and the FCC Management Team
- Ensure 2LOD TM Key risk indicators are kept within approved risk appetite;
- Provide for a professional, safe & secure working environment for all 2LOD TM staff;
- Accountable for overseeing and directing TM team(s) based in the hubs to ensure operational excellence and achievement of organisational objectives
- Functionally steering the TM team based in AMS and in charge of TM standard setting, to ensure operational excellence and achievement of organisational objectives, under the supervision of the Global head of FCC or delegate (based in AMS)
- Provide direction and challenge to ensure AML laws and regulations are effectively translated into operational practices by 1LoD under the supervision of the Global head of FCC or delegate (based in AMS)
- Provide oversight and challenge to ensure AML/ CTF & Sanctions policies are effectively operationalised by 2Lod TM teams under direct Management , supporting compliance and operational effectiveness.
- Maintain strong relationships with the local MLROs, in support of a seamless discharge of MLRO responsibilities (TM related)
- Apply your technical expertise to strengthen ING’s FCC Controls Framework, with a focus on achieving sustainable and effective global control.
- As part of the FCC Management team membership, contribute actively to the global FCC agenda.

Team description
This team safeguards ING against financial crime by overseeing Transaction Monitoring systems, processes, and procedures in the 1LoD and 2LoD, in the countries and the Hubs. It ensures robust and up-to-date methodologies, supporting both local and global stakeholders through a core team (NL), virtual team (Global), and on-site team (PL), contributing to a strong FCC control environment.
Specific Function
This team is responsible for assessing Transaction Monitoring (TM) alerts escalated by the 1LoD and advising the country MLRO on potential suspicious activity, enabling appropriate actions in line with local laws, regulations & global policies. The team also oversees TM systems, methodologies, and procedures; guides 1LoD in identifying and managing TM-related risks; supports the evolution of AML & Sanctions methodologies; and provides expert advice and challenge on AML & Sanctions RegTech developments. Success in the role of Lead FCC TM requires deep subject matter expertise, strong analytical capabilities, and the ability to collaborate across functions and jurisdictions.
FCC Transaction Monitoring Lead GJA 21 reports hierarchically to the Global Head of FCC located in Amsterdam, The Netherlands and will be based in Warsaw, Poland.
