The Lending Tribe

You will work in the Lending Tribe – Operational Excellence and Risk Assurance department, which is part of ING’s Wholesale Banking Lending Organization. Our goal is to become the best Wholesale Bank in Europe by 2026. WB Lending is one of ING’s main business lines, offering a suite of Lending products and services to WB customers. As Tribe Lending, we embarked on a Digital Transformation Journey three years ago to improve our customer and employee experience and digitize our processes to stay competitive and remain regulatory compliant.

The opportunity

As a  Non- Financial Risk Specialist, you will contribute to the design, preparation and coordination of various NFR initiatives, managing Product Control Framework being the main responsibility. You will challenge, advise and support the identification, analysis and mitigation of non-financial risks within the WB Lending, as well as, rising the NFR awareness across the Lending business line. You will make sure that we stay compliant and within the risk appetite.

Your role and responsibilities

In your role as a Non- Financial Risk Specialist for the WB Lending domain you will:

  • Be responsible for designing and maintaining Process Control Standard Lending Framework and corresponding test plans
  • Implementing Process Control Standard Lending across the WB Lending organization globally and provide subject -matter expert advice
  • Chair the Global WB Lending community and provide updates on centrally tested controls as well as track the effectiveness of the Framework Evaluation
  • Build a strong relationship with the (senior) managers within the WB Lending domain by providing solutions on mitigating existing and emerging risks
  • Lead and/ or facilitate risk assessments relevant to WB Lending
  • Facilitate global gap assessments related to various policies impacting WB Lending (e.g. Credit Risk Mitigation Policy)
  • Be on top of changes in the lending processes and products that might have an impact on the risk profile of WB Lending and require relevant mitigating measures
  • Lead data governance and data protection initiatives for the WB Lending (Data Protection Executive (Delegate) role)
  • Contribute to the implementation of data protection, data management and record retention frameworks and policies within WB Lending
  • Make sure that the NFR frameworks and policies applicable to WB Lending are implemented and working effectively
  • Liaise with relevant 2LoD and 3LoD colleagues for risk management questions and/or advise on risk mitigating activities.

Requirements

  • Master/Bachelor degree with up to 4 years relevant experience, in (Banking Industry) risk management or risk auditing.
  • In-depth knowledge of WB Lending products and processes.
  • Fluent in English and Dutch.
  • Strong communication skills: written and oral.
  • Very good knowledge of (and practical experience) in NFR Frameworks, incl. Data Protection, monitoring and reporting
  • Good analytical skills.
  • Proven planning & organizational skills.
  • Driven and customer focused, loving to collaborate with different people.
  • You are a team player but are able to deliver individually in close cooperation with other ING colleagues.

  • A salary indication of 6.176 - 9,871 EUR based on 36 hours per week, tailored to your qualities and experience
