OPS engineer Customer Data
We are looking for an OPS engineer with modern day engineering skills and competences like an eye for innovation, creativity, attention for details and communication.
The opportunity
This position is within the he Customer Data Area at ING Bank NL. The products and services of Customer Data are essential for the everyday financial needs of our customers.
Without access to data our customers can't perform a transaction on their (current) account, close a mortgage or get a business loan for instance. To ensure our customers are in control, we also enable a smooth administration of their personal data (name, address, etc) and the roles and mandates. We do so for businesses and private individuals. We are responsible for the development of the web features for offering best in-class digital experience to our customers.
Within Customer Data our teams are responsible for all digital flows to manage customer data via self-service or via assisted services. Therefore, one can truly state: the products and services from the Customer Data are at the oxygen of all customer interactions with the bank.
Role & Responibilities
As Ops Engineer, you will have a key role in ensuring that everything we do has quality, stability by keeping compliance in mind. You are responsible for day-to-day activities that range from active involvement in the delivery pipeline, test automation, LCM of servers, monitoring, involve in standby, test execution for different test levels, defect management, incident and change management, test strategy, automated deployments and supporting the application in the production environment.
- Participate in user story refinement, ask all the “but what if” questions, propagate example mapping and ensure adequate acceptance criteria are defined (functional as well as non-functional)
- Enforcing compliance with Definition of Read and Definition of Done
- Full test automation of functional tests and regression tests and manual testing when and where required, supporting Disaster Recovery Tests and Security Penetration Testing
- Monitoring the health of our application, using tools like Kibana and Grafana
- Ensuring compliancy by keep our application compliance with IT risk policies and maintaining access matrix (RBAC)
- Supporting the application through ITIL processes, among which Incident, Problem and Change Management
- Managing and improving the Deployment Pipeline and embedding quality controls as part of it
- Life Cycle Management of servers; provisioning, patching, maintaining and decommissioning

- Bachelor or master’s degree in engineering

- Technology, tools and process knowledge
- ITIL knowledge (Incident, Problem and Change Management)
- Experience of CI/CD practice as well as Azure Pipeline
- Agile team experience with SCRUM
- Java understanding, but not coding.
- PowerShell scripting ability
- Linux Knowledge
