The opportunity

In the role of QA Community Lead and Subject Matter Expert, your primary responsibility is to establish, grow, and lead a community dedicated to the pursuit of excellence in Quality Assurance within our large banking institution. While you will be expected to have a deep understanding of QA processes, your focus will be less on the execution of testing and more on the cultivation of a collaborative, knowledge-rich environment.

As a leader, mentor, and guide, you will promote a culture that views QA as a holistic and critical process that goes beyond mere testing. You will  be able to support the team in case they have technical issues. You will also inspire a 'tool mindset' where the selection and use of the most effective tools for each task is a part of everyday practice.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Foster a vibrant QA community within the organization, promoting active engagement, knowledge sharing, and collaborative problem solving.

Future-Proofing QA:

  • Advocate for the increasing importance of QA in the face of advancing technology, specifically the application of Large Language Models (LLMs). Provide guidance on how to adapt QA processes to this new landscape, ensuring our bank stays at the forefront of technology integration in QA.

Mentorship:

  • Provide mentorship and guidance to community members, sharing your expertise and fostering a continuous learning environment. Be ready to have dirty hands on the solutions and adaptions and also participate in the root cause analysis session for the incidents

QA Process Advocacy:

  • Champion the importance and integration of QA life cycle stages, while emphasizing the role of the community in ensuring each stage is well-executed.

Documentation Best Practices:

  • Promote the importance of diligent documentation in QA processes, and guide the community in effective documentation management. Encourage a tool mindset, where the community continually explores and selects the best tools to aid in documentation efforts.

QA Maturity Guidance:

  • Guide the community towards maturing QA processes based on the Test Maturity Model Integration (TMMI) standard. Your goal will be to progress our QA processes to the highest level of maturity.

Strategic Planning:

  • Advocate for comprehensive test planning and help the community understand its importance for aligning testing with project timelines and managing risks and assumptions.

Evaluation:

  • Encourage regular evaluation of testing effectiveness and foster a culture of constructive feedback and continuous improvement among community members.

Goal Setting:

  • Instill the practice of setting SMART (Specific, Measurable, Attainable, Relevant, Time-bound) QA goals and objectives within the community. Encourage the use of key performance indicators to measure progress and success.

Promote of the Testing Strategy:

  • Encourage the community to explore and implement the global test strategy and type(s) to enhance the effectiveness of QA efforts.
