Senior Android Engineer
The Team:
ING OneApp is a global provider to other ING countries with a single native app platform . We are responsible for the development base app, global features and the capabilities for other teams to build and integrate local features. We strive to offer the best in-class digital experience to our banking customers.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- A highly motivated engineer who likes to work in a multidisciplinary team of engineers and business colleagues.
- Next to your work in the squad, you also like to contribute to the mastery of other engineers and improve the way of work within ING.
- You have good analytical skills and conceptual understanding.
- You can quickly understand new technical concepts and technology and you have a strong interest in, and vision of, the latest trends in software development and technology.
- You have experience with giving presentations and workshops, and in general have strong communication skills that enable you to explain complex technical concepts to non-techies.
- In addition, it’s in your nature to challenge existing concepts and ideas to develop faster or to improve the customer experience.
- Your English in speaking and writing is fluent, and you are a team player who likes to join the social events of the squad and ING organization.
How to Succeed:
- You are an experienced engineer with more than 5 years of experience in building Android apps
- You have proven experience with Kotlin
You believe that the easiest way to ensure software quality is by writing testable code and having proper tests via Espresso tests, Unit tests and Screenshot tests.
You appreciate the importance of security and accessibility and always build your applications with this in mind.
You not only develop the software, you also design it, test it, deploy it, monitor it and supports it. You build it you own it.
You are a strong team player; you love to share knowledge, and you are interested in other people’s work
You are enthusiastic about working in an Agile setup, as we work according to an Agile development process, releasing a new version of the app every 2 weeks
As there are many teams (also in other countries), you need to be proactive and communicate/collaborate where needed.
