The opportunity

Do you believe people are the most important asset in achieving organisational success? Then this might be the position for you! We believe that, if we want to be successful, we need to understand what drives our people and how we can enable them to unlock their full potential and achieve our common goals. Collecting this information and translating it into actionable insight is exactly what Continuous Listening does!

The team

We are looking for a senior Behavioural Scientist, to join our Global Community of Expertise, people analytics.  We are a young team, rapidly developing ING’s people analytics capability across the globe. Our mission is to build scalable people analytics products that help ING in its transformation to become the go-to financial platform. The team applies advanced analytical techniques to provide data driven insights into what really matters to employees (through continuous listening) and which human capital investments really drive business results. The Employee Insights team is responsible – among other things – for our global Continuous Listening programme. This programme was established in 2018 and has made considerable achievements since launching, including embedding employee engagement and organisational health into ING’s way of working.

Our objective: We use a continuous listening framework to get an ongoing sense of how our people are doing and how they perceive our strategic objectives. We use global surveys to measure employee engagement and organisational health.

Our Continuous Listening programme is constantly evolving and maturing. Apart from becoming embedded in standard business and people processes, we are tackling emerging challenges the organisation faces, such as the impact of hybrid way of working on employees, employee vitality and diversity & inclusion.

You will work within a multi-disciplinary team of behavioural scientists, data scientists, data analysts and business translators to execute our products. As a senior member of the team, you will also help and coach others in your area of expertise.

We value your consultancy and communication skills as much as your analytical skills!

You are able to secure the successful implementation of Continuous Listening, by being sensitive to the distinctive needs of our business, by dealing confidently with senior stakeholders, by liaising with different departments and gathering together all the necessary resources, by communicating results into the precise, easy-to-understand outcomes, and by making sure analytical insights are translated into a meaningful direction and advice for (senior) Management.

  • Manage (end-to-end) ‘listening’ initiatives and provide overall quality assurance;

  • Validate survey methodologies and content (which requires understanding of psychometrics and sampling methodologies);

  • Align with the survey portfolio - ensuring and maintaining alignment across the different surveys and responsibility for implementation;

  • Ensure timely launch, collection, analysis and reporting of global surveys;

  • Clarify, together with our analytics team, the underlying analytical model and relation to overall business performance in order to create relevance for business managers;

  • Establish continuous feedback and improvement loops to constantly develop and ensure cutting edge development of our listening initiatives.

  • Provide content input and expertise for a number of stakeholders;

  • Partner with HR and business stakeholders to deliver impactful analytical insights;

  • Drive the development and implementation of a comprehensive communication / change strategy and planning;

  • Build and embed the Continuous Listening global community in order to ensure a continued business relevance and value-add of the framework for ING;
