Senior Java Engineer

ING is looking for a senior backend engineer to strengthen our Digital Channels NL domain. You will build and maintain the digital orientation sales backends to offer the best user experience for our retail customers. Are you an engineer driven by innovation and creativity? The team

We are squad Zeus in ING Digital Channels. We create and optimize digital tools for prospects and customers to increase leads and sales for all products and services within the Private Individuals segment.

Roles and responsibilities

You will be working in a DevOps squad in retail banking. With the squad you are end-to-end responsible for the customer journey you are working on. You own the stack and the journey!

Your daily work consists of:

• Coding
• Reviewing 
• Testing
• Building and deploying  
• Monitoring

Besides your role, you enjoy giving presentations and workshops, and you know how to explain complex technical concepts to non-techies. You will challenge existing concepts and ideas to develop faster or to improve the customer experience.

• First and foremost, you need to be a strong coder, have an interest in IT security, and develop with reliability in mind.
• You are an experienced engineer with more than 5 years of experience in Java development using Spring(boot). Ideally you have experience with Azure DevOps, Azure Pipelines, Kubernetes, OpenShift, Cassandra and Kafka.
• Having modern frontend engineering skills is a plus.
• You have great analytical skills and conceptual understanding.
• You can quickly understand new technical concepts and technology and you have a strong interest in, and vision of, the latest trends in software development and technology
