Your role
IPA Pricing Applications is a part of Competitive Pricing IT Area that is specifically busy building pricing and risk management applications for our Front-Office (traders, sales) and Trading Risk Management colleagues.
The solution architect strengthens the design and implementation quality of IT Systems, optimizing technology infrastructure, operational efficiency, scalability, reliability and security, ensuring seamless alignment between design and implementation and business and enterprise architecture. As a Solution Architect you translate functional architecture into solution design.

Key Competencies
- Domain knowledge, good understanding of Financial Markets
- Strong in system design and integration.
- Focusing on implementation details, following the architectural plan and release objectives.
- Develop and maintain relevant architectural artifacts, including application architectures, data models and other relevant documentation
- Up-to-date with the latest technology trends, frameworks, patterns, concepts and languages.
- Good understanding of ING‘s technology standards and solutions.
- Foster reuse across the enterprise and ensure the developed solution will be exposed for future potential reuse
Key Technical Skills
- Proven experience in one of the following programming languages: Java, Python, C#
- Expertise in modern API development technologies, including REST, gRPC and API gateways
- Knowledge of at least one type of SQL and NoSQL database: Oracle, PostgreSQL, Redis, Cassandra, etc.
- Familiarity with key concepts regarding microservices and building a reactive system
- Knowledge of enterprise integration patterns and messaging technologies like Kafka, Pulsar, RabbitMQ
- Experience in building in-house front ends
- Expertise in containerization and orchestration of deploying containerized applications
Key non-Technical Skills
- Strong on tech, ability to guide and verify implementations
- You are curious keep up to date with latest trends in IT in general and specifically within ING.
- Ability to take ownership and responsibility
- Excellent analytical skills and a clear way of translating abstract concepts into implementable solutions
- Collaborate with key stakeholders to design software solutions that meet their needs and align with ING’s strategic goals
- Experience in producing and presenting solution architecture
- Proven leadership abilities, with a track record of guiding and mentoring project teams to achieve project objectives
