Who are we looking for

Do you want your work to have impact bank wide? We are looking for a skilled, passionate and driven professional in ING Procurement Bank Netherlands (NL).

From a Procurement perspective ING Netherlands has interests in a full and wide range of activities - everything related to IT, Marketing & Communications and Professional Services. All ING NL’s purchasing interests in these fields are safeguarded by ING Procurement Bank Netherlands. The exposure as well as the impact of this role is beyond the boundaries of Procurement. To be successful, you must have a strong passion for procurement and for setting high standards for yourself as well as for the people around you.

For this particular role, the ideal candidate will have gained procurement experience in sourcing business operations related services e.g. call center, document services and collections as well as IT related services, application software, SaaS. The candidate will be able to maintain control of an increasingly important area of spend through skilful contract negotiation, acting as a Procurement expert and in building relationships with stakeholders at all levels.

Your tasks include but are not limited to:

• Collaborating with key business partners in our DB BCT Procurement team at all levels; acting as a trusted advisor to gain a clear understanding of the strategic direction and priorities, whilst working to ensure buy in to the ING Procurement Policy;

• Increase efficiency by driving scale where it makes sense, decreasing fragmentation, pooling expertise of business and other Procurement colleagues, prioritising higher impact spend areas and minimising contractual risk;

• Autonomously owning multi-million Euro procurement and strategic projects from cradle-to-grave, from gathering stakeholder requirements through to RFP, contract negotiation and award and any required following supplier relationship management requirements

• You’re able to convert complex information from contracts or proposals into digestible content for stakeholders;

• Instilling a high performance culture across the Procurement community, helping this improving function to score highly against stakeholder satisfaction and cost savings targets;

• You develop and lead supplier contract negotiations through preparation and focus on business, procurement, and financial risks (i.e. cost, market, industry risks), Supplier Intelligence, and Contract Cost/Price Modelling. This involves counterparty financial strength analysis, intelligence/research, pricing analytics, financial modelling, and presentation skills related to highly complex and high value contracts;

• Your contract negotiations build in the required inherent regulatory and compliance clauses and schedules, designed to protect our customers, ourselves and our suppliers. You take ownership in subsequently measuring contract compliance and other key metrics to ensure targets are met or exceeded, and system data remains up to date and accurate;

• You manage contracts with existing suppliers and know how to get new interesting players out of the market, provide them with the right questions, and challenge them optimally;

• You can help us develop our Procurement Roadmap consistent with the ING Bank Sustainable Future strategy – allowing us to reduce our emissions but not our ambitions.

Furthermore, you have:

• You are solution-orientated with demonstrable experience in the end to end lifecycle of projects for the Technology and business operations category

• Bachelor degree in a Business, Finance or Legal field, or equivalent work experience

• 5+ years of work experience leading projects in Procurement and preferably a Procurement qualification (CIPS, Nevi Professional or comparable)

• You have all required skills and knowledge of the legal aspects of the Procurement field

• Excellent negotiator who can drive fact-based discussions

• You are an independent operator but with great empathy skills to connect with your fellow colleagues in the DB BCT Procurement team

• You can give demonstrated examples of resilience

• A salary tailored to your qualities and experience between €4.350,- to max €6.950,- gross a month based on 40 hours per week excluding benefits

• 13th month salary 

• Individual Savings Contribution (BIS), 3.5% of your gross annual salary

• Relocation is offered if residency is outside the Netherlands
