Touchpoint Senior Android Engineer

The objective of Touchpoint Mobile squad is to provide foundational features on top of Touchpoint Platform to support ING app developers with the development of secure banking apps.
We offer a variety of features which are integrated in ING mobile applications including:
- A secure communication channel between the frontend and backend.
- UI components for users to securely register, authenticate and approve transactions.
- Common UI components based on the global UI/UX standards of ING.
- Tooling to facilitate the development process and quality checks in CI/CD.
Roles and Responsibilities
You will work in an agile team of engineers, UX, and product following scrum methodologies to deliver features. This includes working closely with backend engineers to design and implement security features using the state of the art encryption. Together with UX, you will build UI components to maintain and improve ING’s industry leading mobile experience. You will also work on enhancing tools, creating standards, and promoting best practices for mobile engineers to produce the highest quality software products. This work will be the foundation used by ING engineers around the world to deliver secure and performant apps for millions of customers.
How to succeed
- BSc or MSc in Computer Science or relevant field
- 5+ years of experience as Android developer (hybrid mobile development experience is a plus)
- Good understanding of Android Architecture (i.e. lifecycle management and SDK features)
- Must be able to read and write Kotlin and have the ability to use its libraries (i.e. coroutines)
- Gradle scripting knowledge (using either groovy or kts) is a plus
- Technical curiosity and attention to details, high-quality software development mindset
- Experience with CI (continuous integration) and knowledge with industry-standard tools such as GIT, Azure
- Knowledge of JSON, web-services, REST, security
- Proficient in English (written and verbal)
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Good team player
- Prepared to take the Banker’s Oath just like any other ING employees
