The team
The ING Sector Research team is specifically geared towards providing economic research. Co-operation with other parts of ING Wholesale Bank and the Dutch Domestic Bank Netherlands is a key component in finding solutions for our client base. The Global Sector Research team in Amsterdam covers (inter)national sector analysis about specific themes for various sectors such as energy, retail, manufacturing, transport, sustainability and real estate. Roles and responsibilities
ING is developing thought leadership in the pharmaceutical sector. To this end, we would like an intern to investigate the link between FDA approvals, drug shortages and prices as part of their master's thesis in economics.
Our new colleague needs to have a good understanding of the economic aspects of the pharmaceutical sector. They need to be able to conduct both independent and cooperative research. The intern will join the TMT and Healthcare team within ING Global Sector Research.

We look for candidates with the following qualifications:
- Bachelor degree in business economics
- Strong ability to work independently and as a team player
- Strong quantitative skills
- Strong knowledge of Excel is preferred
- Attention to detail
- Affinity with the pharma sector
- Ability to work well under pressure and tight deadlines
- Diligence and attitude to continuously learn
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English (and knowledge of Dutch is an advantage)
- Adaptability and an ability to continually climb a steep learning curve
- Please note that it’s mandatory to be enrolled at a Dutch university (or EU-university for EU-passport holders) for the duration of your internship at ING.
