Platform Product Owner
The Meteor squad is part of the ModelING tribe within the domain of COO Risk. The aim of the ModelING Tribe is to optimally manage and support the Risk modelling capabilities of ING. Risk models are crucial for the competitive advantage of ING. With highly performant Risk models, ING is able to make accurate predictions related to the probability of default of customers, for instance, and with that can make well informed decisions related to Business & Consumer Loans.
The Meteor squad provisions state of the art tooling to support ING’s global Modelling community. The purpose is to deliver standardized and globally supported, high-performing, secure, compliant, reliable and scalable environments aligned with existing ING target infrastructure.
As a Product Owner you will be part of the Meteor squad working for the ModelING Tribe.
We operate according to a Scrum Agile process and strongly believe in the BusDevOps approach to delivering IT solutions because operationally we work closely with our business stakeholders to support their activities. The focus is on anticipating ModelING user needs and delivering secure, scalable, reliable, useable platforms on time using iterative development cycles with regular milestone demos and strong compliancy focus.
The team
Meteor squad is an energetic, international team of highly qualified SAS Experts and DevOps engineers. You will join a team where the product is constantly evolving and introducing new features. The main platform is based on SAS Viya 3.5 running on ING’s private cloud and we are currently busy with migration to SAS Viya 4.0 (containerized version of SAS Viya) on the Azure Cloud.
Meteor is a Platform Team responsible for the provisioning, enhancements and lifecycle management of the Model Platform using CI/CD and SRE practices.
You will be responsible for an asset in a bigger integrated landscape of multiple platform products, designed to facilitate management and streamline processes associated with managing the Model Life Cycle (MLC). These processes encompass all stages in the MLC: development, validation, implementation, monitoring, and updating of models related to risk.
You will work with a dedicated international squad called Meteor, composed of dev-ops and SAS Viya engineers.

Roles and responsibilities
We are looking for the following experience from the candidate in this role:
take ownership of the product backlog by creating & refining epics, features & user stories with Business & Tech value identified on each item (Scrum)
manage the delivery roadmap of the service
manage IT risk on the services you provide
keep the stakeholders and the team informed on the Product Roadmap and the progress of the feature delivery and upcoming releases
present & manage stakeholder expectations during Sprint Reviews/Quarterly Business Reviews (short and long term planning)
participate in platform audits and other security processes
coordination of delivery with other squads
help the team focus on the set priorities by managing the backlog and identify/escalate/solve impediments
keep the team motivated and focused on the sprint and product goals
identify and prioritize improvements as part of retrospectives together with the team

have experience or are interested in Product management
understand concepts related to software engineering and IT Processes (ITIL)
have been working in complex team setups
know how to act under priority changes and unexpected situations in a team
can adapt way of working to rapidly changing requirements
have strong communication/influencing skills
have ability to identify problems, analyse key information and make connections in order to find the appropriate solution
You'll get extra points for:
Familiar with SAS architecture & tooling, in particular SAS Viya 3.5/4.0
knowledge about Risk Modelling
experience with Azure DevOps
experience with ING Private Cloud or Public Clouds
know INFRA concepts like Firewalls, VMs, storage types, databases, etc.
